There are many toxic chemicals located in our homes. Here are some of the more common ones that you may want to try to avoid or minimize your exposure on a daily basis. The key to identifying their existence is to read labels for all of these common items.

Benzyl Benzoate. This is a fairly common chemical that can be found in a variety of products from fragrances to plastics.
Bisphenol A and S. These chemicals are found in many plastic bottles from baby bottle to water bottles.
Formaldehyde. Formaldehyde can be found in lots of new household products that range from new furniture to clothing.
Parabens. Parabens are very common toxins that can be found in many common household items, such as shampoos, moisturizers and toothpaste.
Phthalates. These chemicals are mainly found in cosmetic products.
Perifluorinated chemicals (PFCs). These chemicals are fairly common in paints, furniture and new flooring.
