There are a few reasons your Apple Watch sleep data may not be appearing in the Sensable Health application.
The first place to check is the Apple Health application the day after wearing your watch to sleep. To access this information, open the Apple Health application, and on the “Summary” tab, navigate to “Show All Health Data” and scroll to “Sleep”.
1. If there is no Sleep Data Appearing
If there is no sleep data appearing and you wore your Apple Watch the prior night, then your Apple Watch is not configured to collect sleep data. Reference this support article (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211685) by Apple to setup sleep with your Apple Watch.
2. If there are Sleep Hours Appearing but not Sleep Stages (REM, Deep Sleep, Core Sleep, Awake)
If Sleep Hours are appearing but Sleep stages are not appearing, check that your Apple Watch is updated to the most recent operating system. This is done by opening the “Watch” application on your iPhone. Within the “My Watch” tab, navigate to “General” and then “Software Update”. Additionally, check that your Apple Watch is compatible (Series 4 or higher). Check out this article by Apple for help identifying your watch model: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204507
3. If both Sleep Hours and Sleep Stages are appearing
If both sleep hours and sleep stages are appearing, then your Apple Watch is correctly configured to monitor your sleep. The likely issue is the connection to your Sensable Health Application. Open up the “Settings” application on your iPhone and navigate to “Privacy and Security”. Select the “Health” tab from the list of options. Select the “Sensable Health” app from the list of Apps. Sensable Health requests all of the following read permissions; make sure that each is allowed.
If none of the above solve your problem, the following are a few more areas to check.
- Use your sleep focus on the Apple Watch.
- Swipe up on your Apple Watch display and select the crescent moon icon. Next, choose sleep from the list of options. (Remember to turn this off in the morning so that notifications do not continue to be muted).
- Ensure that your Apple Watch (and not your iPhone) is tracking your sleep
- Open the Health Application on your iPhone. Select “Show All Health Data” and navigate to “Sleep”. Under the subheading “Your Schedule”, select the bold text “Full Schedule & Options”. Scroll down and deselect “Track Time in Bed with iPhone.
- While in the above location (Full Schedule & Options), scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Manage Sleep in the Apple Watch App”. Ensure that “Track Sleep with Apple Watch” is selected
- Ensure that your Apple Watch is the primary data source of your sleep data.
- Open the Health Application on your iPhone. Select “Show All Health Data” and navigate to “Sleep”. Scroll down to the bottom and select “Data Sources & Access”. Ensure that under the “Data Sources” section, your Apple Watch is listed as the first listed (primary) data source (the order of these can be edited by selecting “Edit” in the upper right of the screen.
- Make sure that sleep tracking is enabled on your Apple Watch
- Go to settings on your Apple Watch. Scroll down and select “Sleep”. “Enable” Sleep tracking if an option.
- Uninstall any 3rd party sleep tracking applications.
- To uninstall, open the “Watch” app on your iPhone, and scroll to “Installed on Apple Watch” section. Select any 3rd party sleep application and tap on it; Deselect the “Shown App on Apple Watch”.
- Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged before you go to sleep.
